Many world-renowned companies began their journey in a humble garage. Reichardt Expertise for Cosmetics is proud to be one of them.
With great passion and commitment, Ms Waltraud Reichardt succeeded in developing her "one-woman business" into a leading company in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry.
On 1 July, Waltraud Reichardt founded the company Reichardt Verpackungstechnik (a contract manufacturing company) in her small flat. With just a living room table and a typewriter, she laid the foundation for her success story. In those early days, she counted and packaged cable lugs and connectors at a rate of 25.50 DM per 100 pieces for an electrical company in a neighbouring town.
Ms Reichardt rented a double garage and hired her first employee.
The company moved to a new 500-sqm production facility in the Erzhausen industrial estate.
After acquiring a neighbouring property in the industrial estate, a three-story building was constructed to house both production and administration.
Reichardt Abfüll-Logistik GmbH was established as a wholly owned subsidiary. The Regional Council of Darmstadt granted approval to operate under the German Medicinal Products Act (AMG) (enabling the packaging of pharmaceutical products).
Waltraud Reichardt founded REICHARDT INTERNATIONAL AG.
Research and testing were conducted in a state-of-the-art laboratory, including microbiological analysis.
A dedicated, modern wastewater treatment facility ensured smooth and independent production processes.
REICHARDT INTERNATIONAL-LOGISTIK GmbH was founded.
Waltraud Reichardt acquired Emil Kiessling GmbH in Georgensgmünd, Bavaria. By establishing an innovative research and development department, she also set this company on the path to sustainable growth.
Martina Reichardt-Demirtas assumed management responsibilities, continuing her mother's strategic vision.
In Erzhausen, the remodelling work for a new production facility began in the middle of the year. The old warehouse was converted into a new production facility with a separate pharmaceutical room dedicated to packaging pharmaceutical products. The filling and packaging areas were spatially separated. The research and development department of Emil Kiessling GmbH's subsidiary was provided with new laboratory spaces, a technical centre and a hairdresser testing salon on the upper floor, spanning 812 sqm.
Operations began at the new facility.
The company Reichardt Verpackungstechnik e.K. was renamed Reichardt Expertise für Kosmetik e.K. Starting this year, numerous ongoing audits (e.g. BRC-CP, IFS-HPC) were conducted to ensure consistent compliance with legal and customer-specific requirements.
As part of the commissioning of a new bottling line, the production area (GMP) was enlarged and a packaging material airlock was integrated.
Additionally, the company underwent a legal transformation from a sole proprietorship to a GmbH & Co. KG.
The existing production areas were continuously modernised.
The production area was expanded with the addition of a new production facility,
adding the capability of filling sachets of various sizes and capacities.
A fully automated tube filling line was installed, broadening the company’s existing filling capabilities.
